The Bad Blogger is Back!

I have been seriously neglecting my blog duties.I told myself I was going to start blogging once a week...NOT HAPPENING! It's not that I can't find SOMETHING to talk about...it's...well...hell...I don't know. Time to quit making excuses.

So here's what I've been up to here of late. Anyone who knows me...knows that spring is a big time for me. This year in Florida we've been having some great weather on and off. So the old spring chores have begun. Added more plants to my front flower beds, refreshed a planter from an old solar fountain in my son's garden. Redid the gardens around my deck. Pulled weeds, weeds and more weeds. All of the gardens are just starting to wake up, so I'll post pics when they're in bloom. And I got a wild hair up my rear and decided to plant some fruit trees. So far, we've planted a pear tree, a peach tree an orange tree and 2 satsuma nectarine trees. To keep things simple I chose self pollinating trees and types where the fruit is yummy right off the tree.

Here's a pic of my orange tree...it has so many flowers on it...and see the little green balls where some of the flowers fell off...they're oranges! Aren't they cute? So, they're a little small...hahaha...but off to a good start.

Found this beautiful pink dogwood tree with fabulous burgandy blooms...so naturally I had to get that. So much symbolism in the dogwood tree.

Also found some beautiful rose trees at my favorite store...Lowes. Got a pink and a red. Planted them in large pots with mini roses surrounding them. The pots flank each side of my arbour going down into the yard. I was hugely surprised at how many buds and the amount of new growth on them. Here's a pic of one of the beautiful pink buds.

Lots more still to do...hmmmm...maybe I should save my energy for harvesting my oranges...Mwahahaha. So, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO???

  9. Don't feel bad about being a "bad blogger." I am not the greatest blogger either! Always a work in progress! I'm in Florida as well. There are so many inspiring flowers and beautiful scenery to keep us in the Spring mood, right!? Although I am not much of an outside person, I still appreciate its beauty!

    1. Thanks so much for your kind comments and for following my blog. I started gardening while working as an ICU nurse, I saw so much pain and suffering, I wanted to enjoy signs of renewal and hope. Thus my gardening obsession.
