The True Meaning
For many this long weekend is about barbecues and having fun with family and friends. While this is certainly important, let's not forget the true meaning of this holiday weekend. Take the time to reflect on those men and women who have given their lives so that we can all enjoy the freedoms we have today. Remember the cost to their families for that sacrifice. Show respect for our country and our flag. You don't have to support any of the ongoing conflicts, but we ALL owe respect and thanks to our men and women in uniform and to those who have given service to our country. Take the time to thank service members and the many veterans all around you, not just today, but whenever you encounter them. Our freedom has come at a high price for many!
